Technology Playground for Future Jobs

The aim is to raise the technology know-how of companies, educational institutions and students in the region to meet the opportunities and needs of new technologies in our region.Technology companies will need more than 53,000 new talents by 2021. ICT experts alone will be needed for companies in our field over the next four years, about 11 400 more. The technology industry creates more than half of our country’s exports and employs about 300,000 people. Technological progress is the biggest driver of training and skills in the future, requiring swift and diverse action. The aim is to develop the competence of local companies to meet rapidly changing skills needs in the working life, such as robotics, dronet, VR, AR, AI, which supports the raising of the level of competence of regional companies and graduates to detect the opportunities offered by new technologies in the development of existing or new services and products of companies. The project also responds to the skills needs related to smart specialisation in the region. The aim and measures of the project are: —Design and launch a technology learning environment in cooperation with Cursor and Ekam.-Create an active network of experts to produce and exploit the content of the learning environment -Develop the first parts of the physical learning environment to support activities. —Developing a technology pedagogy operating model-Identifying new technologies, new work tasks and skills needed for new ways of working together with a network of working life.-Producing workshops, training and event days and training packages for companies, training organisations and students. —Organise a hackathon event between start-ups and more traditional companies, where startups can use new technologies to create solutions for companies’ challenges or develop completely new approaches to developing products, services or processes.- With the help of a network of experts working on research and development in the learning environment, it is possible to effectively network the companies in the region with the necessary experts and companies to develop new technology solutions. Results: —Enhanced Technology -learning environment-Active network of experts in content production and utilisation of the learning environment-The first elements of the physical learning environment completed -The model of technology pedagogy developed-The competence needed for new technologies, new tasks and new ways of working has been identified — thanks to workshops, training and event days and longer trainings, new skills, expert networks and partnerships have emerged for companies and organisations around new technologies. —With the help of new technologies, solutions to the challenges faced by companies or completely new approaches to the development of products, services or processes have emerged through hackathon events shared by Startup technology companies and more traditional industries.-A network of experts working on the research and development of the learning environment and the ability to network companies in the region effectively with the necessary experts and companies to develop new technology solutions are intended to expand their activities to other target groups in a lifelong learning perspective and to take into account different age groups from the point of view of technological competence development.
