Universities of Applied Sciences train workers to meet the needs of working life, which may not even exist yet, or at least are unaware of them. This is why the development of management methods and methods to become more future-oriented is justified. The new value of the project is the change in steering thinking and culture, which is based on identifying future-oriented scenarios for working life, developing future-oriented career guidance and career guidance pedagogy, and utilising artificial intelligence and learning analytics in the development of guidance work. The project consists of three themes working as a university cooperation. The themes are: 1) Structures and models for guiding the work of the future: strengthening models and structures of career guidance in higher education institutions, 2) Directing the work of the future: strengthening career guidance skills in higher education institutions, and (3) coordinating and strengthening cooperation within the university network, compiling good practices for sub-projects and disseminating results at national level. The concrete core of the work is the pilots of the themes 1-2. Each higher education partner in the project participates in regional and national development cooperation. The pilots carried out in universities aim to achieve the sub-objectives of a larger whole, the theme. The pilots will be evaluated and the necessary changes will be made and the development work will continue. Working on the themes of the project continuously provides information on good practices related to career guidance and future work that have emerged from university cooperation. The interaction between the project’s national cooperation and thematic coordination is continuous and reciprocal.
