Modernisation of Panevezys gas compressor station

The project is dedicated to the modernisation of Panevėžys DKS by installing modern devices and advanced elements. Since 1974, gas compressor units powered by internal combustion engines, process taps, auxiliary processes, accidents and alarms, emergency braking automation and control systems for gas compressors and their elements have become technologically obsolete and deteriorated, their reliability and accuracy have been reduced, and their operation has become inefficient. The old system for controlling technological parameters is incompatible with the new local management and control systems installed in the DCS units. Installed fuel inlet valves have only the possibility of manual adjustment, so the adjustment is complicated, inconvenient and inaccurate. Turbochargers for air feed into cylinders, their parts are technologically outdated, worn out and have no possibility to regulate the amount of air supplied. Without the implementation of this project, the equipment would be left unrenovated, it would be unstable, the annual operating costs and the cost of gas for technological purposes would increase, the risk of accidents and disruptions would increase, the reliability of gas transmission would be reduced, and the need for labour to maintain the working mode of obsolete equipment would increase. The introduction of new state-of-the-art technologies is an unavoidable process for the station to continue to perform its intended functions. During the implementation of the project a comprehensive modernisation of Panevėžys DKS technological equipment would be carried out: 1. Automation of gas compressor station control; 2. Installation of abatement equipment; 3. Implementation of electronic management of the fuel intake system; 4. Modernisation of the air supply system. This would ensure the efficiency of the Panevezys gas compressor station using modern equipment and advanced technologies, as well as the reliable transmission of gas to customers through these technologies, i.e. improving the quality of the public service and avoiding losses to consumers as a result of the cessation of economic activities.
