Development of non-formal education services for children

Summary of the project (published to the public) The aim of the project is to develop and implement non-formal education services for children in Lithuania. The activities of the project will help to create and maintain an even network of non-formal education services in municipalities, increase the availability and diversity of services, create equal opportunities and favourable conditions to reveal children’s individual abilities and implement special educational needs. The inclusion of museums, theatres, regional and national parks, STEAM regional centres and other spaces in the NIS will open up wider opportunities to choose non-traditional educational environments by involving schools in creative partnerships, and provide students with general and special competences (e.g. STEAM). School communities will have the opportunity to engage in physical activity in specialised spaces, gaining experience in active forms of education initiatives. The Education Portal www.emokykla.lt developed a module of the LDCs in which the NDC providers will find training tools and methodologies to improve the quality of the content of the NPPs. The socialisation of pupils will be supported by the development of a digital learning tool for the development of traffic safety for pupils. Participants and teachers of the NPP system will participate in trainings that will provide the necessary skills for the successful socialisation of children and young people and the organisation of non-formal education for children. The testing of the 4K model will stimulate the use of NWT methods in schools of general education.
