The aim of the project is to improve the state of biodiversity. In order to achieve this objective, i.e. favourable status of protected plant and animal species, the first step is to improve legislation in this area, as national legislation on the protection of individual protected species is not sufficient. It is also necessary to establish breeding programmes for protected species for which habitat management measures are insufficient. It is also worrying that species whose population status is under-exploited, little knowledge of the abundance of those species and the status of their habitats, therefore, studies on potential habitats of such species need to be initiated. Invasive species cause ecological problems, which are among the most dangerous for biodiversity as a whole. Newly introduced, deliberately or unintentionally humanised species can quickly reproduce, adapt to local natural conditions and thus alter established ecological relationships in ecosystems. There are at least 9 invasive species whose abundance requires special measures. In order to take such action, the first step is to prepare the necessary documentation, i.e. action plans to regulate the abundance of invasive species. Taking into account the problems outlined briefly, the project foresees the preparation of conservation and action plans for 24 protected species, breeding programmes for 3 protected species and inventory reports of 4 protected species, as well as action plans for the regulation of the abundance of 9 invasive species. After the necessary documentation has been prepared, the implementation of the documented actions will be undertaken.
