Open Government Initiatives

The aim of the project “Open Government Initiatives” is to implement open government (government) initiatives to encourage public participation in public governance, to increase the availability of information about the government’s activities and public engagement measures, to strengthen the competences needed to increase the openness of public administration. During the project, the public consultation mechanism of public administration institutions will be improved and tested, targeted communication of the Government’s activities is carried out to involve the public in the decision-making process, and the administrative capacity needed to increase the openness of public administration will be strengthened. The project activities will seek to cooperate as much as possible with stakeholders (public, non-governmental organisations, etc.), thereby further contributing to increasing the openness of public administration. It is expected that once the planned project measures are implemented, (1) public administrations will acquire the missing competences needed to ensure an effective public consultation process, (2) institutions will understand the principles of open government and will step up the implementation of initiatives to strengthen open government, 3) public participation in public governance processes will be more active and effective, 4) a mechanism for monitoring and evaluating public participation in public governance processes, 5) the availability of information on government activities will be enhanced.
