The aim of the project is to promote adult participation in lifelong learning by offering them services of key competences, professional skills development, competence development of cultural workers and individuals active in the cultural sector and strengthening the functionality of the adult non-formal education system. The target group is adults (aged 18+), cultural workers and individuals active in the cultural sector. The target group does not include people aged 55-64 who are included in the list of key competences set out in the Recommendation of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2006 on key competences for lifelong learning (2006/962/EC). Activities will be carried out during the project: (1) Training on the development of key and key competences of adults and cultural staff and persons active in the field of culture is organised; (2) In 60 municipalities, training on the planning and implementation of educational activities will be organised for adults with key competences; (3) In-service internships to foreign countries will be organised; (4) Development of the already established adult information system www.smis.lt, as well as the development of a package of adult/vocational training content; (5) an analysis of adult learning needs will be carried out and a financing model for adult education will be developed; (6) Non-formal vocational and non-formal education programmes for adults will be developed and/or implemented; (7) An international PIAAC (The Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies) study will be conducted and disseminated. Deliverables and benefits of the project: adults will acquire or strengthen general, basic, special and professional competences, increase their motivation to engage in lifelong learning, increase the employability and/or survival of adults in the labour market, ensure opportunities for self-realisation in society, and ensure a better quality of cultural public services.
