In order to ensure the quality of the gas transmission service provided and the reliable, safe operation of the gas transmission system, it is planned to implement the project “Reconstruction of individual sections of the Vilnius-Panevėžys-Riga main gas pipeline”, which will modernise the natural gas transmission system using smart technologies. The reconstruction of part of the main gas pipeline (MD) Vilnius-Panevėžys-Riga will reduce the likelihood of possible accidents in this part. During the implementation of the project, a section of 13 918 m MD Vilnius-Panevėžys-Riga (DN700) will be reconstructed, where a large number of corrosive lesions were detected during internal diagnostics; advanced infrastructure elements have been implemented — corrosion velocity measurement equipment to monitor the state of cathode protection.
