Skaistakalnis Park is the oldest and one of the largest parks in Panevėžys, but it is a little attractive public space for visitors and residents of the city. The main problem is that the existing infrastructure of the park is physically deteriorated — bicycle and pedestrian paths are in poor condition and insufficient, children’s play, sports grounds, small architectural elements, lighting system outdated, bridges across the river and pond bridges in poor condition, unmanaged greenery. The park does not have conditions for high-quality recreation and recreation of residents and infrastructure adapted to various activities. The aim of the project is to contribute to creating favourable conditions for the development and creation of industrial and business environment, the development of community activities in Panevėžys city. To achieve the goal, it is planned to strengthen the existing centre of gravity in Panevėžys city by remediating Skaistakalnis park and its access. The project will equip and renew existing bicycle and pedestrian paths, install engineering networks, small architectural elements (beads, bins, bicycle stands, stands), 1 children’s playground for children up to 6 years old and 1 pitch for older, teenagers, 2 sports grounds, manage the terrace with an amphitheater viewed from both sides with a rest area on the slope, the banks of the ponds and the valley of the Žagienis stream are being managed, with the installation of navigators to Nevezis and the entrances to the Žagienis stream, new greenlands are restored and installed, a pedestrian bridge across the Nevėžis river is reconstructed, 2 bridges through ponds and stream, parking, and video surveillance cameras are installed. The implementation of the project will result in the remediation of public space and adaptation to the development of community activities. It is expected that the results of the project will allow the employment of the population to increase in the target area, contribute to favourable conditions for the creation and development of the industrial and business environment and improve the image of the city of Panevėžys.
