Dane Square is one of the main public attractions in the city, but due to its worn, poor physical condition, unrepresentative appearance, the existing public infrastructure is unattractive to community activities, recreation and leisure, and does not enable residents and guests of the city to increase socio-economic activity and the creation and development of the service sector. During the implementation of the project, the Danė river quay will be reconstructed from Biržos bridge to Bastionų str. (~ 420 m) and Danė Square will be renovated, where engineering networks will be carried out, a new lighting system will be installed, pedestrian paths have been renovated, children’s playground cover and fencing have been installed, greenery (renovation of the lawn, planting of flower beds), small architectural elements (benches, trash boxes, flowerbeds, information signs), reconstructed pedestrian path along the quay will be reconstructed, photodynamic floor fountain is installed. It is expected that the organised public space in Klaipeda city centre will encourage the establishment of small and medium-sized businesses close to the renewed infrastructure, thus facilitating business development and creation and active social activities of local residents.
