One of the main directions of the energy strategy of the Republic of Lithuania in the electricity sector is to implement the project of synchronous connection of the Lithuanian electricity transmission system (together with the electricity systems of the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Estonia) to the Continental European Networks (Continental European Networks) by 2025. Synchronisation with the KET provides for the development and modernisation of the transmission network, including the strengthening of the Vilnius electricity transmission node. Modernisation (reconstruction) of the existing 330 kV airline from Lithuanian Electric to Vilnius TP is one of the first works to strengthen the Vilnius node, which will contribute to ensuring reliable and stable work of the EES transmission network, uninterrupted electricity supply, and the consistent restoration and modernisation of the internal electricity transmission network.
