In order to reduce morbidity and premature mortality from cerebrovascular diseases among residents of Vilnius county and other target municipalities, by improving the availability and quality of methods of prevention and effective treatment of acute stroke in the public institution at Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Clinics (hereinafter — Santaros Clinics), the project “Improving infrastructure for reducing cerebral circulation diseases and premature mortality from cerebrovascular diseases” is initiated. The following medical equipment is planned to be purchased during the implementation of the project: two detector angiographic system with a specialised table and a computed tomography apparatus (256 sections or more). The aim of this project is to solve the problem — faster and more accurate diagnosis of cerebrovascular (especially acute stroke) diseases, provision of scientifically based, timely, effective and safe treatment services to the population of Eastern and South East Lithuania. Patients applying for suspected or established cerebrovascular diseases will benefit from the project. These patients will improve the quality and availability of services.
