After reconstruction of the section of the TEN-T road E67 (VIA BALTICA) Kaunas-Marijampolė, road A5 Kaunas-Marijampolė-Suwała from 23.40 km to 35.40 km, safe traffic conditions will be ensured in accordance with the traffic flow rates, requirements for the road category AM and established international standards. The implementation of the project will improve the TEN-T road infrastructure in the territory of Lithuania and will have the following long-term effects: facilitate transit and local traffic; improve road safety and reduce the number of accidents; travel time will be reduced. During the reconstruction of the E67 (A5) Kaunas-Marijampolė-Suvalkai road 23,40-35.40 km, the 12.00 km section is reconstructed in accordance with the requirements of the technical category AM with the separation lane and connecting roads adjacent to the A5 road; the intersections of road A5 25.85 km and 27.85 km shall be arranged; 31.68 km — junction of different levels of Skies with connecting roads; four viaducts (two intersections, one at different levels at the intersection, one tunnel — 23.93 km); environmental measures are being implemented (30.64 km underground animal crossing, eight noise-absorbing barriers, fences, jump ramps and animal barriers, passage for amphibians, afforestation); reconstruction of engineering networks (panel drainage, reconstruction of communications and power lines, lighting of junctions of different levels and overpass tunnels; connection of lighting networks to AB ESO networks, reconstruction of departmental networks, reconstruction of 110 kV airline Kaunas HE-Kazlu Rūda section between supports No 162 and No 165 Prienai district municipality).
