In order to improve the accessibility and quality of personal health care services of Lithuanian children, Kaunas Clinic, as a project promoter and project partner — a public institution Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Clinic, initiates the project “Development of an integrated model of Lithuanian child health care services and specialist training”. The core of the project is to create an integrated model for the provision of primary, secondary and tertiary level healthcare in order to optimise the structure of services, promote outpatient services and maintain the quality and accessibility of healthcare services to the most vulnerable part of our society — children. One of the key aspects of the model is patient logistics. The model will include the distribution of children’s emergency facilities with monitoring services, outpatient childcare facilities, inpatient services for children, and logistics for patients in need of emergency, outpatient specialised or level II — III inpatient care.
