Renewal of cardiological and cardiosurgical infrastructure for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the circulatory system VULSK

In order to improve the availability and quality of services for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the circulatory system (especially acute myocardial infarction) for the population of the target areas (Vilnius, Utena and Alytus counties (with the exception of Alytus and Lazdijai municipalities) a project is being initiated which provides for new medical equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic angiographic and electrophysiological procedures for coronary and peripheral vascular diseases of the heart, acquisition of diagnostic, cardiosurgical surgical, anaesthetic and intensive care equipment of cardiology units and repair of the premises of the Blood Surgery Division and part of the operating unit. After the implementation of the project activities, the project promoter’s infrastructure will be updated and advanced, less invasive modern cardiology and cardiosurgery diagnostic and treatment technologies will be implemented, the availability and quality of circulatory system disease prevention, diagnostics and treatment services will be improved, the expectation that the population’s morbidity and premature mortality from circulatory system diseases will be reduced, bed days will be reduced, working-age patients will return to the labour market more quickly and, at the same time, the working conditions of the staff will improve.
