Semiconductor Technology Centre (PTC)

The project’s investment is intended to complement the research, experimental development and innovation (hereinafter referred to as ‘R & I’) base of the Semiconductor Technology Centre (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Centre for Semiconductor Technology’) by forming a complete package of research services. PTC is a localised technological infrastructure at the National Centre for Physical and Technology Sciences, which includes technologies for the cultivation of organic and inorganic semiconductor materials and derivatives, a research base for their structural, optical and electrical properties, and equipment for the production of prototypes for electronics and optoelectronic devices. The equipment purchased from the project will help to improve the parameters of the equipment already in use and to complement the existing equipment kits with missing elements in order to raise the technological level of the research carried out and take more responsibility, participate more actively in projects of international research initiatives and participate fully in the programmes of international research infrastructures and participate in European R & D & I projects. The results of the project will be used by researchers from the PTC and other HEIs and the business sector to carry out the research needed for product development, through open access, and will acquire practical skills to work with high-tech equipment.
