The aim of the project is to ensure the protection of the diversity of animals in the Baltic Sea by creating a system of research and rescue of marine animals in line with modern scientific and practice standards, which includes the treatment and rehabilitation of animals. In order to achieve the objective of the project, the Baltic Sea Animal Rehabilitation Centre at the Lithuanian Sea Museum will be implemented. Two project activities are planned to be carried out to achieve the target:_x000D_1.1. Reconstruction of the building to the rehabilitation centre for marine animals;_x000D_1.2. Purchase of equipment needed to provide rehabilitation services in the Baltic Sea._x000D_The specified activities will deliver the most important results of the project: increase the number of marine animals accepted for treatment and rehabilitation, carry out research on marine animals, ensure the participation of LSU and other organisations in Baltic Sea ecosystem research and conservation programmes.
