The main problem is that the quality and accessibility of public services provided by the Library of the Blind of Lithuania does not meet the needs of target groups and does not ensure the implementation of the principles of advanced society. To solve the problem, it is envisaged that it is appropriate to organise the library infrastructure by creating a model of cultural and educational space. The facilities must be adapted to the needs of the target groups (comfort and sanitary conditions for visitors, working conditions for workers and volunteers). The project of the Lithuanian Library of the Blinds aims to open the library as a cultural space in a broader sense, where topical discussions, meetings, creation, learning, knowledge deepening will take place: the library aims to become an active communication space for society not only between persons with visual or other disabilities, but also to strengthen the connection with society as a whole.
