The aim of the project “Reconstruction of separate sections of the Vilnius-Kaunas gas pipeline” is to modernise the natural gas transmission system by using smart technologies, i.e. by installing advanced infrastructure elements (corrosion speed sensors) for monitoring the state of the main gas pipeline. During the project, the section of the 16.89 km high gas pipeline Vilnius-Kaunas will be reconstructed, where a number of defects were identified after internal diagnostics, which will help to ensure continuous, reliable and safe transmission of natural gas to the residents of Kaunas and Kaišiadorys districts.
