In order to ensure reliability of electricity transmission and increase the energy security of the electricity system (EES), stability of work, integration of diversified energy sources at both Lithuanian and Baltic level and integration of the Baltic States into the common European EES, it is necessary to have forces and modernised electricity sector. Project Provision of reliability of electricity transmission on the 330 kV power transmission line Lietuvos Elektrinė-Alytus will contribute to ensuring reliable and stable operation of the EES transmission network, uninterrupted electricity supply, consistent reconstruction and modernisation of the internal electricity transmission network. Upgrading the 330 kV electricity transmission line (EPL) by installing advanced infrastructure elements in Lithuania’s Electrical-Alytus will ensure the reliability of electricity transmission and supply for both existing and new potential electricity users in the municipalities of Elektrėnai, Kaišiadorys district, Prienai district and Alytus district, with higher quality of service (reducing the frequency and duration of failures).
