The aim of the project is to encourage people (especially children and young people) to take an interest in science by contributing to a more active and diversified use of existing and newly developed R & D & I infrastructure. The aim of the project is to increase trust between science and society, to highlight and help society to find links between nature, technology and social phenomena, to help society adapt to a rapidly changing labour market in order to breakthrough in the context of the fourth industrial revolution, to promote public awareness and interest in science and technology career prospects in Lithuania, to educate the young generation of researchers and promising specialists, to develop an educational system of open access centres for science, technology, engineering, mathematics research and experimental activities. The aim of the project is to create a Science and Innovation Dissemination Centre (hereinafter referred to as the Centre) in Kaunas, on the island of Nemunas. About 263 thousand visitors will visit the Centre every year, including about 200 000 pre-school and school-age children. It will become one of the attractions of interest in science and technology. Visitors, especially children of pre-school and school age, will be able to deepen their knowledge, broaden their horizons and get acquainted with the information provided in an interactive, efficient way. After the implementation of the project, an infrastructure for the promotion of science will be created, which will consist of 3 types of exposition spaces — permanent expositions, temporary exhibitions and virtual projection spaces. The Open Access Centre for Natural Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Experimental Activities (STEAM) will also be created, consisting of 4 student-adapted laboratories — IT — robotics laboratory, Smart city (Smart City) laboratory, biology — chemistry laboratory, physics-engineering laboratory — for formal and non-formal education activities.
