The need for reconstruction of the A1 road Vilnius-Kaunas-Klaipėda 102,90-107.00 km was due to the significant increase in traffic volume, the needs of pedestrians and cyclists and the increasing attention to the safety of all road users. The aim of the project is to develop and improve the TEN-T road network by strengthening road cover, implementing traffic safety and environmental protection measures on the national highway A1 Vilnius-Kaunas-Klaipėda section from 102.90 to 107.00 km. After the implementation of the project, the A1 section of 102.90-107.00 km will be equipped with a new coating structure in new deceleration and acceleration lanes, reconstructable areas of culverts and weak soil change. Road A1 will be equipped with a pedestrian overpass, a junction of different levels, three circular junctions on both sides of the A1 road and connecting roads, missing lighting, reconstructed engineering networks, and environmental measures — noise barriers. After reconstruction of the section of the A1 highway A1 Vilnius-Kaunas-Klaipėda from 102.90 to 107.00 km, the 4.10 km section will ensure high-quality traffic conditions for local residents on the project site, Lithuanian and international car transit traffic users.
