The aim of the project is to prepare a national study on the integration of ecosystems and their services and their socio-economic assessment into public policies and decision-making processes in the public administration and economic sectors, in order to demonstrate the benefits of such integration in increasing the efficiency, cost-effectiveness and sustainability of solutions in various public policy areas and improving the state of biodiversity, ecosystems and services provided by them in Lithuania, thereby also ensuring public well-being. The planned results of the study are the expanded knowledge base on ecosystems and their services and their socio-economic assessment, propose models for integrating ecosystems and their services and their socio-economic evaluation into selected sectors of public administration and economy, recommendations for the creation and improvement of relevant legislation, a tool for increasing the competences of decision-makers and publicising the results.
