Taking into account the population density, their needs and the trendy growing traffic flows in the city, Kaunas City Municipality is constantly looking for the most effective solutions to reduce the negative consequences of transport. The main objective of the project is to organise traffic and parking more efficiently with the help of intelligent systems, to regulate the trend of increasing traffic flows in the central part of the city (congestion) and to ensure the reduction of the environment, air pollution and noise. Three traffic management and regulatory systems are planned to be implemented during the implementation of the project: 1. Traffic management system; 2. Smart parking system; 3. A pollution control and reduced emission control system. These systems would make urban traffic organisation process more efficient, reduce congestion and pollution from cars, and improve transport parking processes. The results of the project will influence the creation of a high-quality environment for the population, the provision of cleaner air, the ability to have convenient conditions for achieving the destination of the city quickly and at the lowest cost.
