The objective of this project proposal is to increase the energy efficiency and production capacity of A.L. Filter EAD by replacing part of the production equipment, which is obsolete and highly energy intensive. Old equipment is intended to be replaced by new equipment with significantly improved productivity and low energy consumption. The building of the enterprise in Ruse, where the project will take place is a territorially separate site with complete separate production and its own scheme of energy supply and energy consumption. The planned investment includes the purchase of: Machine for the production of polyurethane filters — 1 pcs., Machine for the production of welded filters in a metal housing — 1 pcs., Vertical injection molding machines for the production of panel air filters with plastic frame — 2 pcs. and construction works related to thermal insulation of part of the roof of the company’s production building. The project proposal also provides for the construction of a system for the recovery of waste heat, the introduction of an automated system for monitoring and control of energy consumption, as well as the implementation and certification of ISO 50001 standard. The investments under the project are within the scope of KID 28.29. As a result of the implementation of these measures, the production capacity will be significantly increased, reducing the energy consumed and the harmful carbon emissions from production, helping to protect the environment and improve the company’s competitiveness. The planned energy savings for the enterprise as a result of the implementation of the project will be 5 027 685 kWh/year or 74.4 %, and the efficiency of the investment in terms of the amount of energy saved in kWh on an annual basis to the required investment in BGN (kWh/BGN) will be 2.07, with carbon dioxide emissions of 3154 tonnes per year saved.
