The main objective of this project proposal is the rehabilitation of Road II-53 Polykraishte — Elena — Sliven from km 34+ 400 to km 46+ 290 and km 72+ 200 to km 87+ 301, improvement and modernisation of the technical and operational characteristics of the section and achieving uniformity of the road surface. The implementation of the project will lead to: increasing the mobility of the population, increasing investment in the region, creating new jobs, improving the state of the environment by reducing the emission of harmful greenhouse gas emissions and allowing more choice to health and education services for the local population, as well as stimulating the development of tourism. Through the implementation of rehabilitation of road II-53 will be met the needs of the population of the South-East and North-Central region of Bulgaria, especially the residents of the districts of Sliven and Veliko Tarnovo, as well as those transiting through the region. The main activities set for the successful implementation of the project are:- Forming a project management team to manage and coordinate all activities and participants in the implementation of the investment proposal;- Selection of a contractor for carrying out construction works, signing a contract with it and carrying out rehabilitation of the site;- Choosing the contractor of construction supervision (Consultant) of the project, signing a contract with it and carrying out consulting services;- Implementation of the measures on information and publicity of the project;- Introduction of the site into operation, verification of costs and reporting of the results achieved;
