The implementation of the project results in meeting the need to overcome the challenges of high energy intensity in industry and high levels of consumption of natural materials and energy due to physical and obsolete technologies, limited access to new practices, systems and models of production. These challenges are solved by investments in new equipment, energy management systems and the introduction of an automated system for monitoring and control of energy consumption, leading to improvement of the efficiency in the final energy consumption and increasing the capacity of the enterprise for sustainable growth and competitiveness. ALUKOM JSC is a representative of the target group under the procedure — large enterprises implementing projects, which are based on an energy audit and are implemented in sectors characterised by high energy intensity, and the enterprise is also in a priority sector for the programme with code 24.53 “Flowing light metals”. The aim of the project proposal is to promote measures to increase efficiency in final energy consumption, through investments in new energy efficient equipment, introduction of energy management systems and introduction of automated system for monitoring and control of energy consumption. The expected results are to increase the competitiveness of Alukom AD by improving the efficiency in final energy consumption, leading to the achievement of sustainable growth and lowering the energy intensity in the implementation of the following activities:1) Acquisition of new energy efficient production equipment; 2) Construction of mechanical ventilation system for the recovery of residual heat;3) Establishment of an automated system for monitoring and control of energy consumption;4) Implementation and certification of an energy management system according to ISO 50001 standard; 5) Publicity and visualisation.
