This project proposal will increase the resource efficiency of Dunav Press AD by introducing a production (process) innovation — a new significantly improved process of producing labels and boxes of cardboard by purchasing an automated and manageable digital line for production of printing production — 1 pcs. The implementation of this innovative production process will allow saving basic raw materials for labels and boxes of cardboard — cardboard, ink and UV varnishes; a reduction of over 47 % of waste from sorting of paper and cardboard, non-ferrous metals and metal packaging and the transition of Dunav Press AD to the first degree of ‘prevention’ of waste according to the waste management hierarchy; reducing the use of hazardous chemicals such as UV varnish; increase the efficiency of production costs by more than 16 % compared to 2016 and reduce the amount of atmospheric emissions from manufacturing activity. The implementation of the innovation will expand the production capacity of Dunav Press AD by 20 % as it will replace offset with digital printing technology with high speed of operation; allow for fast and quality printing of barcode, shelf life and security codes according to the standard GS1/2DDataMatrix/on media with a thickness of up to 530 gsm/610 microns; it will integrate into one operations printing, application of clearance coating, water-based varnish application and hot air drying and will introduce a high degree of automation. The project also provides activities for organising and conducting events and publications in traditional and digital media to multiply the results of the project.
