The implementation of the project will contribute to connecting the Burgas East 2 terminal with the core national and trans-European transport networks, in particular the Orient/East-Mediterranean Corridor, thus facilitating freight transport between the seaport and internal connections. The project provides for construction activities, including rehabilitation of railway and contact network, publicity activities, construction supervision, author’s supervision, assessment of compliance with TSIs and project management.The project implementation period is from 06.01.2021 to 30.07.2023. The railway road, subject of this project, which connects Vladimir Pavlov station to the station of Burgas west (freight track Iztok-West) has been interrupted due to a deteriorated technical condition. Delivery and withdrawal of wagons for Burgas west station takes place through drawing track and switches No 6 and No 8 at the station of Burgas, which means that all trains for the port and the station of Burgas west pass through the station of Burgas. At present, all the manoeuvring activity for Burgas west station is passing through the arrows at the port of Burgas. With the implementation of the project, the freight trains for Burgas west station and for the terminal “Burgas East 2” will be able to be delivered directly from Vladimir Pavlov station without the need for additional manoeuvring movements. The rehabilitation of the railway infrastructure includes the replacement of the lower and upper construction of the railway track on the Iztok-Zapad link, the replacement of the adjacent arrows and the construction of a new “S” link between the track “Vazzka Iztok-West” and the first draw track in Burgas station. The scope of the project is from end arrow No 20 (Vladimír Pavlov station) to end arrow No 103 in Bourgas station.
