Construction and development of Miracle Mechatronics and Clean Technology Competence Centre (Mechatronics, Innovation, Robotics, Automation, Clean technologies)

The Institute of Mechanics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences is a multi-profile institute with a team capable of achieving the specific objective of the procedure for development of top and market-oriented scientific research. The applicant organisation is a consortium created by a partnership contract between the Institute of Mechanics — BAS, as a leading organisation and: Institute of Information and Communication Technologies — Bulgarian Academy of Sciences; Central Laboratory of Solar Energy and New Energy Sources — Bulgarian Academy of Sciences; Technical University — Sofia; Sofia University "St. It’s a CL. Ohridsky”; University “Prof. Assen Zlatarov”, Burgas; Higher School of Insurance and Finance; GIS Transfer Center. The main task of the consortium is to unite the efforts of prominent scientists and university lecturers to create a unified infrastructure for high-tech innovative research aimed at business — Centre for Competence, in the thematic area “Mechatronics and Clean Technologies”. High-level, state-of-the-art research will be carried out in this field; training and qualification methodologies will be developed; strategic partnerships will be built with leading research organisations in Europe; we will work on innovative projects with Bulgarian companies, etc. The infrastructure proposed for the project is distributed among the partners in the consortium. It consists of 4 bases with 15 laboratories built and equipped in them. Laboratory research activities are grouped into 6 work packages: ● Innovative solutions in robotics and automation; ● Biomehatronic systems; ● Intelligent environments, processes and technologies in mechatronics; ●New methods and means for the control and testing of mechatronic elements; ● Mathematical provision and modelling of complex systems and processes; ● 3D modelling, development and implementation of pilot models of mechatronics elements, details and systems.
