Introduction of energy-saving technologies in Kastamonu Bulgaria AD in order to improve the competitiveness and achieve sustainable growth of the enterprise

This project proposal aims at improving energy efficiency, achieving sustainable growth and increasing the competitiveness of Kastamonu Bulgaria through the implementation of the following activities: Acquisition of energy-efficient equipment (measure 1 of the energy audit) — (the activity will be implemented through the purchase of a grinder line — 1). The new grinding line consisting of two broadband grinding machines will replace the existing amortised, energy-intensive and inefficient equipment in stage 6 of production, providing a technological opportunity to process 70 % more production, with nearly 50 % fewer working hours. The implementation of this project, which implements the recommended energy audit measure 1, is fully in line with Kastamonu Bulgaria’s energy efficiency strategy, and the quantifiable results to be achieved are: Annual energy savings 5 611 104.67 kWh; Planned energy savings for the whole enterprise (PES): 16.01 %; CO2 savings: 4 595.49 t/year; Total non-energy savings 44317.00 BGN per year; Total energy savings 678943.67 BGN per year. The planned activity will also contribute to: the significant expansion of the processing capacity in stage 6 Calibration and grinding, with reduced energy consumption; reducing the unfit discarded chipboard generated by recycling them; reduction of equipment requirements relating to the required amount of compressed air and flow rate for dust discharges from aspiration. As a result, the energy efficiency of the enterprise will be improved by ensuring sustainable development and competitiveness, as it will both increase the amount of production produced and reduce the negative impact on the environment.
