The project “Doctoral Training at MU-Plovdiv for Competence, Creativity, Originality, Realisation and Academicism in Science and Technology — 2 (DoCTORANT 2)” is implemented by MU-Plovdiv as a continuation and upgrade of a successfully implemented project “Doctor 1” in the previous planning period. The aim of the project is to contribute to the development of the human resources of the Medical University engaged in the field of science and increase the research capacity of PhD students, postdoctoral students and young scientists. The project includes 4 students, 15 PhD students, 15 postdoctoral students, 5 young scientists and 12 professors. We will continue the trainings for a successful scientific career at the PhD school built under the project “Doctorate 1”. The next step in the training of young researchers (postdoctoral and young scientists) is their participation in the Pedagogical Academy, where the focus of training is on building capacity for research, inclusion in international scientific projects, etc. The Pedagogical Academy will train and habilitate teachers to acquire knowledge and build skills for scientific guidance of PhD students, transfer of technology, etc. To achieve significant results from the scientific activities of young researchers and to acquire practical skills for research we will provide mentoring and advisory support from prominent foreign and Bulgarian scientists. 10 young researchers and 4 students will carry out a one-month internship at well-established universities in the EU and the US. 30 young researchers will have the opportunity to present their research projects and results in fora in the EU. We will provide support for 45 publications in internationally recognised publications. To promote the scientific achievements of young researchers, we organise “Days of Medical Science” and the International Conference “Science and Youth”. The project will provide access to scientific databases, buy scientific publications, support young researchers’ access to international networks and projects.
