The project proposal “Technical assistance for preparatory works until the start of the construction of the Bulgaria-Serbia interconnector” aims to finalise all activities for obtaining a Building Permit for the implementation of the project for the construction of an interconnector Bulgaria-Serbia. The activities included in the project proposal are: preparation of cost-benefit analysis, development of a model for management and maintenance of gas infrastructure and selection of the operator of the facility; providing access for field archaeological studies for their completion; assessment of the damage and payment of compensation to owners/rentors of properties falling within the easement of the pipeline route; implementation, coordination and approval of changes to the Detailed Spatial Plan — Parcel Plan (SPP — PP) and the Technical Design; updating the register of property owners along the pipeline route; preparation, coordination and approval of an investment project — phase Work project; acquisition of property rights — ownership, easements, right of way and other rights over foreign properties required for the implementation of the project; issue/supply of permits required by national legislation necessary for the issuance of the building permit. The expected final result of the implementation of the envisaged activities is to obtain a permit for the construction of an interconnector Bulgaria-Serbia, which will provide alternative sources of natural gas at national level, accompanied by diversification of transmission routes, will significantly increase the security of supply for the country, which will create conditions and opportunities to satisfy the expected increase in demand and consumption of natural gas, while allowing the expansion of the national gas pipeline network.
