Increasing energy efficiency in Nayden Kirov JSC

This project is aimed at improving the energy efficiency and increasing the production capacity of Naiden Kirov AD through the purchase and commissioning of 15 energy efficient injection molding machines. The project envisages a system to capture waste heat from a chiller that produces cold energy for technological needs. The captured waste heat will be used to heat a production workshop. Additionally, an automated system for monitoring and controlling energy consumption is planned to be purchased and implemented, which will enable the management of the company to take the right management decisions in order to reduce energy consumption. An energy management system will be introduced and certified according to the requirements of standard BDS EN ISO 50001, which will lead to a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, energy costs and other environmental impacts through systematic energy management. All activities foreseen in the project will focus on the production of plastic parts and accessories under code 22.29 manufacturing of other plastic products, which is characterised by high energy intensity. As a result of the implementation of the activities described in the project and the measures outlined in the energy audit on the basis of which the project was developed, the amount of energy consumed and that of the harmful carbon emissions from production will be reduced, thus helping to protect the environment and improve the company’s competitiveness. The planned energy savings for the enterprise as a result of the implementation of the project (PES) will be 63.33 % or 3 017 097 kWh/year, and the efficiency of the investment in terms of the amount of energy saved in kWh on an annual basis to the required investment in BGN (kWh/BGN) will be 1.07 kWh/BGN for CO2 emissions of 2 444 t/year.
