Social inclusion of people with disabilities in the municipality of Asenovgrad and facilitating their access to employment

The project proposal will be implemented by providing support under Priority Axis No 2 “Reducing poverty and promoting social inclusion” of OP “Human Resources Development” 2014-2020. The project is in line with the main strategic documents aimed at creating conditions for the full integration of people with disabilities — the Long Term Employment Strategy for Persons with Disabilities 2011-2020, the Updated Strategy for Ensuring Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities 2008-2015, the National Strategy for Long-term Care and the National Health Strategy 2014-2020, as well as the Regional and Municipal Strategy for the Development of Social Services and will respond to the specific needs of the target groups.The project’s target groups are:- People with disabilities and their families; — Elderly people at risk: people depending on care due to disability or inability to live independently and independently or at risk of social exclusion and exclusion; — Economically inactive persons: persons not registered with job centres or not employed. The project will provide the social service “personal assistant” and will open a Centre for Innovative Services. For this purpose, the municipality of Asenovgrad will provide a suitable building, which will be renovated and equipment and furnishings will be purchased. A team of professionals will be recruited to provide various activities to support people with disabilities. Information and counselling will be provided to family members who care for people with disabilities on the exercise of labour and social security rights and their possibilities to return to the labour market.
