This project proposal is aimed at improving the quality of life in Blagoevgrad, making it a more pleasant place to live through interventions in the following sites:1) Blagoevgrad Str. Dimitar Thessalonikiski" to Ivan Mihaylov Street. The main objective is to create a lasting improvement of the transport and operational characteristics and bearing capacity of the pavement, ensuring conditions for safety of movement, comfort of travel and good drainage of the street, ensuring an aesthetic and harmonious environment, connected with communication, administration, commercial and residential adjustment;2) Renovation and improvement of the square. “Georgi Izmirliev-Macedoncheto” and in particular: reconstruction of the square, sub-area and fountains, artistic lighting in the central urban area between the buildings of the Municipal Administration — Blagoevgrad, Drama Theatre “Nikola Vaptsarov”, Regional Health Inspectorate, the building of the American University in Bulgaria and the Allen Mak Hotel. The project foresees: bringing the area concerned into line with the requirements of an accessible population environment, including for persons with disabilities; maintaining and supplementing the green areas, including wood and shrub vegetation, installation of energy-saving lighting fixtures;3) Construction of a bicycle lane connecting St. St. Dimitar Thessalonikiski, Dame Gruev Str., Vasil Levski Blvd., St. St. Blvd. Cyril and Methodius — next to Hotel Alen Mak and from Maritsa Str. to Ivan Mihaylov Street;4) Blagoevgrad’s IV microregion, including rehabilitation and reconstruction of streets, energy-saving street lighting and landscaping in the area of Vetren Street to Southwestern “Neofit Rilski”. The project was developed for 6 streets without pavement and pavements, namely: Vetren Street, Roden str., Cherno More Str., Saedinie Str., Nedevisti Street and Ruen Street.
