The project “Integrated urban transport of the city of Blagoevgrad” was developed on the basis of an integrated territorial approach aiming at a lasting improvement of the vital, environmental and economic conditions in Blagoevgrad and the municipality as a whole through the introduction of measures and the implementation of activities related to the improvement of the conditions of provision of the services of the mass public urban transport. The project was prepared on the basis of a selected Alternative, which finds its right framework and fine-tuning in a developed feasibility study and financial analysis. The alternative provides for implementation 3 investment components, which provide for the following:- Component No 1: Investing in the development of an electronic traffic management system and a real-time passenger information system that will improve urban mobility, improve road traffic safety, promote efficiency in the use of existing infrastructure and contribute to reducing environmental pollution by controlling traffic flows and traffic volumes;- Component No 2: Construction and installation of metal frames for information boards at the stops (including the provision of power supply for the boards), which will improve the awareness of citizens and guests of the city and contribute to easier organisation of their trips;- Component No 3: Construction of a subway to the district. With the realisation of the activities, the Municipality of Blagoevgrad will fulfil one of its obligations to the public, namely to provide the citizens and guests of the city with more efficient, quality and convenient urban transport, will build more accessible infrastructure of the public transport networks, will create conditions for reducing congestion and traffic. The implementation and implementation of all these measures will inevitably lead to a reduction in the negative impact and impact on the environment.
