This project proposal aims to contribute to improving the socio-economic integration of marginalised communities, including Roma in the municipality of Borovan. Borovan Municipality and partners — 2 kindergartens, 3 primary schools and 3 NGOs provide a comprehensive social package to 700 vulnerable residents of the municipality, attacking both the complex problems they face. Interventions are aimed at improving access to employment, education, social and healthy services, developing the local community and overcoming negative stereotypes. Activities to improve vocational training and employment are foreseen. Targeted support for children and students to retain and increase their educational outcomes through additional training in Bulgarian language, improvement of the educational intercultural environment, participation in clubs for the development of their individual potential and talents, psychological support, work with parents. Improving access to and delivery of quality social and health services will be done by providing integrated cross-sectoral services, according to the specific needs of users, individual counselling, reviews and socio-health mediation, raising awareness of social and health rights and health culture. The activation of the Roma community and the creation of a lasting model of cooperation at local level involving all stakeholders will be achieved through the functioning of a Community Centre. All planned joint activities will help overcome negative stereotypes in the local community and promote tolerance. The activities envisaged are in line with the identified needs of the Roma population on the territory of the municipality of Borovan. They are in line with the Municipal Strategy for Roma Integration 2016-2020, the Action Plan 2017-2020, the Concept of the Municipality of Borovan, the relevant priorities of OP HRD and OP SESG.
