“Improving the quality of education by modernising the educational infrastructure in the city of Burgas — stage I”

The project envisages the implementation of a series of interconnected activities to ensure an attractive and accessible educational, educational and sports environment for the youngest and youngest citizens of Burgas. The implementation of the project will contribute to building on the results of the Municipality of Burgas in implementation of its policies for reconstruction, renovation and modernisation of educational and educational institutions. With funds attracted by various EU financial instruments, as well as with its own resources, in the last few years the Municipality of Burgas has renovated a significant part of the kindergartens and schools in the city, with the ultimate goal of completing the whole renewal cycle. The sites of intervention in this project proposal are located mainly in the identified impact zones of the Integrated Plan for Urban Reconstruction and Development of the city of Burgas — ZONI with a predominant SOCIAL HARACTER and ZONE OF PUBLIC FUNCTIONS with HIGH COMMUNITY significance, where the main problems and conflicts in the environment are the lack of more complete connection and exposure of public, cultural and administrative buildings and the creation of new spaces for public activities. The scope of this project also covers two sites located outside the impact zones, the role of which is to strengthen the functional links of the city and the surrounding area by providing an evenly high-quality educational service to as many inhabitants of the city as possible, including in its peripheral areas. The identified areas are characterised by unbuilt, undeveloped or poor urban environment elements, including educational infrastructure. The identified areas show a low standard of education, unoccupied capacity and a large number of early school leavers. As a result of the problems identified, sites with the potential to provide an attractive and accessible educational, educational and sports environment have been identified in these areas.
