Project "The Power of Water. Support for enhancing the potential of Burgas Municipality as a competitive tourist destination" is part of the purposeful and consistent policy of Burgas Municipality to establish the city as a recognizable and preferred tourist destination with a variety of cultural, historical, religious and natural attractions and services. The main goal is to increase the competitiveness and strengthen the city of Burgas as a preferred tourist destination, through investments in the development and validation of a unique tourist product for the promotion of local cultural heritage. The main activities include:1. The construction and reconstruction of 4 sites of “national” and “local” meaning as follows: Exhibition and demonstration center "The Mineral Waters of Akve Kalide"; — Temple "St. St. John’s Day. Cyril and Methodius, Burgas;- Extension of existing and construction of a new port for small vessels in the aquatory of St. Anastasia Island.- Cultural-tourist complex “Changene-skele”2. The delivery of a cruise ship.3. Supply of equipment and furniture.4. Measures to promote the tourist product and the financial contribution of OPRG 2017-2023.The activities are aimed at meeting the needs of the target groups, including residents and guests of Burgas municipality, local communities, business, people at risk of social exclusion, cultural, scientific and educational institutions. The direct and indirect effects of the implementation of the project, such as creating new tourist sites and services, promoting the region, increasing visitors, creating new jobs will contribute to meeting their needs. The expected results are related to increasing the number of tourists in Burgas municipality, preservation of local culture and customs, balanced development of the territory.
