The implementation of this project will ensure the achievement of the objectives of project DIR-51011119-18-37 “Preparation and implementation of a project for the development of waste water infrastructure in the agglomeration of Golden Sands resort, Varna Municipality”, the implementation of which started under OP “Environment 2007-2013”. As a result of the implementation of the Preparation Agreement and the Supplementary Agreement for the first phase of the project, full project readiness for the implementation of the investment project was achieved. This project proposal includes two sites: 1) Reconstruction and modernisation of WWTP — Golden Sands. It is planned for a future load of 72 122 p.e. during the summer months and 18 000 p.e. during the winter period. The area served by the treatment plant is of significant scope and comprises: Sa “Alen poppy”, Chaika resort, Reviera VK, Golden Sands resort. The project under procedure BG161M10P002-1.005 provides for the WWTP to ensure the necessary treatment of waste water by also removing total nitrogen and total phosphorus. In view of this, the following are included in the water-road WWTP process scheme: coarse gratings, input PS, mechanical purification in combined facility, biological treatment in SB-reactors, UV disinfection. Aerobic stabiliser with sealing, mechanical centrifuge dehydration and post-coaching of the cake will be built along the path of the sludge. 2) Partial construction, reconstruction/rehabilitation of the sewerage network in “Allen Mak” SO. The settlement is close to Chaika resort and this determines its active absorption for villas and resorts with holiday homes. The total current sewerage system in the territory is about 20 %. The project envisages the construction of 4 main gravitational household sewerage branches with a total length of 4 795 m and 265 building deviations. The branches are discharged into the existing upper household collector “Tchaika” passing through the territory and discharged into the WWTP-Golden Sands.
