The project is an investment in the physical and living environment of Varna. Its implementation will contribute to the implementation of the Integrated Plan for Urban Reconstruction and Development of Varna through the implementation of projects from the Investment Programme. Three impact zones have been identified in the IHLG, two of which have a concentration of residential districts, public, educational and cultural institutions and other functions of public importance. The sites of intervention within the project are located in the “Social Predominant Area” and “Area with Public Functions”. The territories of both areas are characterised by infrastructure that is mostly heavily depreciated, with insufficient functionality, unsatisfactory aesthetics and impaired environmental performance. In view of this, the project activities are aimed at reconstruction, aestheticisation and modernisation of urban spaces and providing an accessible environment. Their implementation will contribute to improving the quality of life, ensuring access to basic services for the population, improving the environment and the development of the whole region. The project is oriented towards meeting the needs and needs of the target groups — the population of Varna Municipality and the region, as well as visitors, guests and tourists in the region. The results of its implementation will also help to increase investment attractiveness and support the balanced economic development of the city and the region and will have a beneficial social impact. The interventions envisaged to achieve the objectives include: Reconstruction and rehabilitation of: inter-block spaces, street network, public recreation areas, including urban furnishings and landscaping; introduction of energy-saving street lighting; construction of bicycle paths; accessible built environment related to the above directions. All planned activities follow a unified concept of safe, sustainable and high environmental and aesthetic quality urban environment.
