The project proposal provides for the introduction of energy efficiency measures and at least energy consumption class “C” in the administrative building (a complex of buildings, the oldest of which is a cultural property) of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior-Varna, which will contribute to reducing final energy consumption and indirectly reducing greenhouse gases. The object of intervention is state-owned and the property rights are exercised by the Ministry of the Interior and the State Agency for Technical Operations. It is located in the central urban part of Varna on the territory of the Archaeological Reserve “Antic Town — Odessos — Varna” — an object with the status of real cultural property of category “national importance” and is in an impact zone with public functions of high public importance from the ICPLD of Varna. The implementation of the project activities will bring the administrative building of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior-Varna in compliance with the requirements of the technical passport and the energy audit, in compliance with the requirements of the legislation in force in the Republic of Bulgaria and will improve the architectural appearance of the complex of buildings. The implementation of the project will lead to higher energy efficiency and directly contribute to the reduction of final energy consumption in the administrative building, as well as improve mobility of people with disabilities, and indirectly contribute to reducing greenhouse gases. The implementation of the project will contribute to achieving the national energy efficiency target of 25 % higher energy efficiency by 2020 and indirectly reducing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere.
