The project proposal is aimed at renovating the social infrastructure in the city of Varna, which will create a prerequisite for improving the quality of the social services offered to the population. The site of intervention is municipal property and consists of two five-storey blocks — dormitory block A and block B, connected to a warm connection. Block A opens the “House for temporary accommodation of homeless and socially deprived persons” and the third floor of block B houses the only one on the territory of Varna Municipality “Crisis Center for Children”. The building is located in the Impact Zone with a predominant social character, in the ICPLD of Varna. The results to be achieved by the project activities are: fully renovated and modernised building for the provision of social services, adapted to the requirements of the technical passport and the energy audit, in compliance with the requirements of the legislation in force in the Republic of Bulgaria; fully furnished and equipped premises; provided an accessible built environment for service users and improved living environment, including the provision of sport approaches and facilities. Create a protected and supportive environment for children at risk, homeless and socially disadvantaged people and reach European standards for social infrastructure. The building will comply with all requirements for public service buildings and ensure safety for the life and health of residing children and adults. The groups directly influenced by the results of the project are children from families with domestic violence who have suffered trauma from violence or abandonment, children who have dropped out of the education system, children with deficits, victims of trafficking in human beings, homeless and socially disadvantaged persons, and persons of Roma background falling under the previous categories.
