The project proposal provides for the introduction of energy efficiency measures and achieving at least the energy consumption class “C” in eight multi-apartment buildings in Varna. The sites of intervention were selected after an information campaign and procedure for evaluation and prioritisation of Applications for interest and financial assistance by the Owners’ Associations registered in Varna. The eight buildings are located in an impact area with public functions of high public importance from the Varna IHLG. The implementation of the project activities will bring the buildings into compliance with the mandatory requirements of the energy audits and part “Constructive” of the technical passports, in compliance with the requirements of the legislation in force in the Republic of Bulgaria and will improve the architectural appearance of the respective residential areas. The implementation of the project will lead to higher energy efficiency and directly contribute to reducing final energy consumption in residential buildings, as well as improving access to them for people with disabilities, and indirectly contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. The implementation of the project will contribute to achieving the national energy efficiency target of 25 % higher energy efficiency by 2020.
