The project proposal provides for the provision of integrated social and health services for persons with disabilities and persons at risk in connection with the containment and overcoming of the effects of COVID-19. Actions are planned in both eligible strands: the new component of patronage care for the most endangered by COVID-19 will build on the services offered so far and will ensure sustainability of the results of the project “Patronage care for elderly and disabled people on the territory of Varna Municipality — Component 2” and the project “Patronage care for elderly and disabled people in the territory of Varna Municipality — Component 3”, developed in implementation of the National Strategy for Long-term Care and the Action Plan for the period 2018-2021. In the second strand, measures aimed at protecting the health of both users of social services and staff involved in their provision will be implemented. It will provide the necessary human resources and a safe environment for the functioning of social services in the context of an epidemiological situation and, if necessary, additional IT equipment to provide them remotely. The increased use of information and communication technologies will enhance the possibilities for crisis intervention and the sharing of experience and good practices among social professionals. As a result of the planned interventions, additional support will be provided to address the consequences of the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the municipality of Varna.
