Municipalities of Krivodol and Borovan, partners with care for a better life

The partnership between the Municipality of Krivodol and the Municipality of Borovan aims to build a model of patronage care for improving the quality of life and the opportunities for social inclusion of people with disabilities and the elderly by providing a network of services in a home environment. The project envisages the provision of hourly mobile integrated health and social services in the homes of elderly people, persons with disabilities and those with chronic diseases and permanent disabilities. The provision of these services aims to ensure the prevention of institutionalisation of people dependent on care and the building of a host and supportive attitude in society. The following support services are planned in the home environment — a home assistant and health and social services — patronage care for the representatives of the target groups included in the project. The project provides the services within 12 months and covers more than 63 persons from both municipalities. These will be people with limitations or inability to self-service, people with disabilities and their families and those with no relatives and for whom there is a social need for hourly services. Domestic assistants and healthcare professionals will be selected to provide up to two hours of mobile integrated health-social services to consumers in their home environment. It is planned to set up a service management team, which will include 2 dispatchers, one for each of the municipalities and 1 driver for the Municipality of Borovan. Integrated services will be provided to people who are selected through a clear procedure for the preparation of individual assessments of their needs, respecting the horizontal principles of equal opportunities, non-discrimination and gender equality. A leading idea for the planning of these activities is to bring integrated health-social services to the homes of consumers. The provision of such services is in the interest of both the people to whom it will be provided and the whole of society.
