The project “Renewal and reconstruction of educational sites in the city of Kardzhali” is one of the three projects in the list of indicative main projects of the approved under Priority Axis 1 — “Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development” of OP “Regions in Growth” Investment Programme (IPA) for the implementation of the IGLR of Kardzhali 2014-2020. The main objective of the project is through the modernisation of the educational infrastructure to create conditions for quality and accessible education in the territory of the city of Kardzhali. The specific objectives of the project are related to the renovation of the building fund and the adjacent spaces and the improvement of the energy efficiency of the “Savricular” and the “Svetirovski” energy efficiency projects. Cyril and Methodi in Kardzhali — “Basic renovation and introduction of energy efficiency measures for a building of”P.K. Yavorov“Primary School in Kardzhali” — “Rehabilitation of the Peace kindergarten in the town of Kardzhali”. The modernisation of these educational establishments is part of the Kardzhali IHLG. They are located in two of the impact zones of the plan-Zone with public functions and the area of social character.The project’s target group is 4723 students, who attend the five schools and 130 children who will be trained in the kindergarten “Mir” after its restoration.The main activities of the project are related to carrying out construction and installation works in the five intervention buildings, where six educational establishments are housed in the town of Kardzhali, supply of equipment, construction and author’s supervision. Also, activities for information and publicity are foreseen under the project.
