The main objective of the project “Renovation/Reconstruction of Municipal Theater Kyustendil and construction and restoration of recreation park Theater” is to provide modern and effective cultural infrastructure in support of the balanced and sustainable development of the Kyustendil agglomeration area. The main activities envisaged in the project will contribute to improving the condition and access to the cultural institution, which in turn will raise the standard of living and support the provision of competitive and quality services. The implementation of the project will contribute to the sustainable positioning of the Municipality of Kyustendil as an attractive and dynamic city center, offering a variety of cultural services in an appropriate and profitable environment, meeting the needs and expectations of the population and promoting the cultural and social integration of all vulnerable groups. As a result of the absorption of the funds provided under this project proposal, it is envisaged that the Municipal Theatre — Kyustendil will be thoroughly renovated and to build and restore the recreation area “Theatre”. The project proposal provides for the rehabilitation of the Theatre Park with an area of 3 986 sq.m. and the overhaul of the building with an area of 8 778 sq.m., entirely used to promote the cultural life in the settlement. The site is located in the central part of the town of Kyustendil, on the main street Bulgaria Blvd., which is a pedestrian alley from the central Velbuzhd Square to the railway station and the bus station of the city. In the immediate neighbourhood are located other sites identified as priorities for implementation under the Integrated Plan for Urban Reconstruction and Development of the town of Kyustendil. Through its implementation, it will achieve a complete and complete urban landscape, allowing for the development of outdoor activities, a centre for citizens and their consolidation as a single civil society.
