The project “New care for people with disabilities in Kyustendil Municipality” aims to create and implement a sustainable model for deinstitutionalisation of care for people with disabilities through the provision of quality, accessible and sustainable long-term care services, tailored to the individual needs of the people in Kyustendil Municipality. This project proposal supports the process of deinstitutionalisation of care for people with disabilities through the creation of 3 centers for care of persons with mental disabilities, Center for Care for Persons with Mental Disorders and a Day Care Centre for Persons with Different Forms of Dementia and their families. In addition to the already achieved infrastructural results in implementation of projects under OP RG 2014-2020, the intentions of Kyustendil Municipality are now oriented towards providing services for living in an environment close to the family, social inclusion, equal access and protection of people with disabilities accommodated in institutions. By deinstitutionalising caring for these people, one of the most important conditions for guaranteeing their rights will be met, which for one reason or another are at risk or cannot live in their families. The project proposal is in line with the requirements of the operation and is in the context of the overall process of creating an opportunity for independent living of older people and people with disabilities by providing quality, accessible and effective cross-sectoral services for long-term care, tailored to the real needs of the people in the community. The project proposal will be implemented in implementation of the measures set out in the Action Plan for the period 2018-2021 for the implementation of the National Strategy for Long-term Care.
